Looking Back: I trust everyone enjoyed a good Sunday this past week while I was back in California. Thanks to Doug and Janet for leading and Anna for playing the piano. You may recall the message was from Hebrews 2:9-13 with a focus on being satisfied with Jesus as we live life together with Him! Living life together with Jesus really is amazing! Imagine, we are privileged to live life with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Looking Ahead:
I trust you are looking forward to this coming Sunday. We will break bread together as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Our text from Hebrews 2:14-18 teaches us that as we celebrate communion, we are being reminded of our merciful and faithful high priest – Jesus. He made atonement for our sins through shedding His blood. In this atonement made on the Cross, Jesus literally suffered, bled, and died. In so doing, Jesus was in everyway except for sin, just like us. Since we have flesh and blood, Jesus shared in our humanity! No wonder we can sing “Amazing Love.”
As you prepare for Sunday, consider that Jesus became one of us to break us free of death, to become our High Priest, and to identify with our temptations. Yes, Jesus was, and is real flesh and blood, and He was one of us. ~See you Sunday!
Looking Beyond: Sunday March 8 we must spring our clocks ahead! Ouch! We lose an hour’s sleep and despite the promises, congress has still not solved the problem of the twice yearly changing of our watches. Trust you won’t be too tired on March 8 because we move ahead under being satisfied with the Savior to “builders, buildings, & boasting.” Sounds like fun!
