A weekly look back and look forward from Pastor Wayne
Looking Back: This past Sunday we had the privilege of looking at the theme of “What is Church?” We learned that church is when Jesus is experienced. My prayer for us in 2026 is that we will increasingly know and experience Jesus’ presence in our times of worship. We know that when 2 or 3 gather in Jesus’ name, He’s in the midst of them. What we long for is not just presence, but manifest presence where Jesus is experienced as Savior, Lord, and King! Let’s make a concerted effort in 2026 be aware of Jesus in our midst!
Looking Ahead:
Today is New Year’s Day. We’ve now completed a quarter of this century, and a bold, bright, and beautiful new year is before us. As we move into the new year, a new series of messages from Hebrews 1. This Sunday we will simply consider verses 1-3 under the theme of “Satisfied with the Savior.” The first message asks the question – “Who is Jesus?” Have you ever taken time to consider who is Jesus? Most of us could rattle off a number of answers to this question, most of which would be correct. Our question this new year goes deeper…who really is Jesus? Good man, great prophet, religious leader, or is He truly the Savior of the world. Join us this coming Sunday as we focus on the truth that Jesus is God in human form, He’s God’s voice to us, He’s the One with all authority, He’s the Creator, and He’s the radiance of God’s Glory! And He holds the whole world in His hands, He’s the perfect sin offering, and He’s at the Father’s right hand!
As you join us this Sunday, come prepared for the Lord’s Supper and be ready to meet Jesus afresh as we begin a brand-new year!
Looking Beyond: I want to remind you that this coming Saturday we will enjoy at 8 am the undecorating of the church from Christmas. The following Sunday we continue the series from Hebrews 1 continuing with getting to know Jesus better. Happy New Year and let’s trust God for a Christ-centered 2026.
