Welcome to a new weekly blog from Colonial Park Community Baptist Church. This blog will come out every Friday posted to the church website.

Have you noticed “spring” is in the air? I love these early days of May when the temperature is moderate, the mornings and evenings are cool, and the sky is blue and the sun magnificent.

Thinking of May, this month we remember Mom! As we know, Mother’s Day is not a biblical holiday. The key biblical day in May is Ascension Day, this year on May 14th and celebrated Sunday May 17th. But both dates are critically important. Mom’s role as serving her family is affirmed in the Scriptures. And Jesus as our ascended Lord is constantly interceding before the Father for us! Both are beautiful pictures of surrender, supplication, and service.

With Sunday Coming, I trust you will be prepared for a special Mother’s Day. I’m addressing a subject I’ve never considered before –

Mary’s Journey – a mother all mother’s can consider. While the focus is on Mary as mother, the message will be for both mothers, men, and children.

As you prepare for Sunday, take time to reflect on Mary. I’ve mined eight biblical characteristics of Mary as a mother. Can you think of several before Sunday? Maybe your list will mirror mine – you will have to wait and see.

As Jesus work as Savior is never done, He is after-all still interceding for you, a mother’s work is never done. Take time to be thankful for your mother, for your children, and men, for the mother of your kids!

Let’s come this Sunday ready to celebrate afresh – mothers. Logan will be with us for the last time to play, we have our end times class at 9.30 and we are still praying for members of our flock who are sick and recovering.

Blessings!!!!
