Welcome to the first long weekend of summer, a time to give thanks for those who gave their lives in the service of our country! The weather doesn’t look great for outdoor activities; however, the rain is good for the ground from which comes our daily bread!
As you look forward to Sunday here are just a few updates to keep in prayer.
Marilyn is recovering from her fall, and Michael remains in the facility in Camp Hill. Continue praying for both Marilyn and Michael.
Pat is back home and is supported by her grandson and daughter-in-law. This coming week she hopes to learn if a cast and boot can be fitted for her. She still is unable to put weight on her right foot.
Cheryl is recovering from her fall but still would benefit from our prayers.
Doug has gone today for electric shock treatment to hopefully get his heart in proper rhythm.
Continue to pray for Lynda as she will have a shunt inserted into her brain on Thursday this coming week.
Judy is continuing with her chemo treatments. Please lift her up in prayer.
The message Sunday finds us in Hebrews 6:4-12. As you read these verses, I need to make you aware they can be misunderstood and so come ready to seek fresh understanding of what God is saying. The topic this Sunday is “A Warning to Keep Advancing.” See you at 9.30 or 10.30! We will take time to celebrate Memorial Day by giving thanks.
The last Sunday of May will find us considering that “our sure foundation is Jesus.” Our text will be Hebrews 6:13-20. Be much in prayer for our time together.
A Day To Remember (Unknown)
There is a day we stop and remember,
The men (and women) who fought with bravery. Those who shed their blood and lost their lives, so our country could live in liberty.
There is a day we stop and remember the colors that we love.
The red, white and blue of freedom,
That fit our country like a glove.
White for purity of purpose, red for valor during battle, blue for justice paid to those who threaten us, are the gifts our Lord blessed upon our men.
There is a day we stop and remember, that our men have not died in vain.
For after every battle is won, our country’s standards reign.
Wave a flag, place a flower upon a grave, say a prayer of thanks on Memorial Day. For the price of freedom was freely paid.
